Questions about Concierge Pediatric Care?
We understand that concierge pediatric care may be a new concept to you, and you likely have some questions. Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions we hear from local families. If you are ready to learn more with a meet & greet with Dr. Shi, reach out today!
Dr. Shi personally conducts a Virtual Meet and Greet with all prospective families prior to signing up with the practice. This complimentary consultation provides an opportunity for both parties to get to know each other and to determine if it would be a good fit. Parents and families are encouraged to ask questions openly and learn more about the direct-access practice model and its services. Once you’re enrolled as a Little Roots Direct-Access member, you can directly book with Dr. Shi or request appointment by utilizing our smartphone app for our practice.
Membership fees are charged to your bank account, credit, or debit card monthly or annually. You can pay as a recurring monthly payment with an additional one-time enrollment fee for the family. For annual memberships, the enrollment fee is waived. You may also use your FSA or HSA to pay for a membership, but we recommend you consult with your employee benefits manager or health insurance benefits representative to confirm this.
Yes, we currently have openings in our practice. However, space is limited in order to provide personalized care to each member and family. Once the practice reaches capacity, families will be placed on a waitlist and notified when a spot becomes available.
Little Roots Pediatrics does not participate in any insurance plans for our direct-access members-exclusive services. For those with insurance, our practice works well with PPOs. We facilitate specialist referrals, procedures and/or imaging done outside of office, and lab draws. While we are unable to guarantee a specific reimbursement rate, PPOs typically allow ease with subspecialty referrals.
Yes, we work well with PPO's and most insurances to allow our patients the ability to use their insurance for additional services and medical work-up that help with care and treatment.
As much as we aim to meet our members where they are for their medical needs, we are not a hospital/emergency room/urgent care. What we promise to offer is well-thought-out care plans for acute and ongoing health concerns. If you feel that you have a medical emergency and are unable to reach your doctor, we recommend that you always report to the nearest emergency room for the fastest medical attention.
At Little Roots, we believe that each family and child deserves special attention and time to assess their health concerns and close working relationship with their pediatrician that enables proper follow up. To accomplish this, our members pay a set monthly or annual fee for access to our doctors. We work towards building lasting working relationships with our families and members, foster open communication, and provide a patient-centered care plan that is curated for each person. Our members are able to directly contact their doctors when they need medical attention, this includes weekends and after-hours for urgent health concerns.
Little Roots Pediatrics has been exactly what we were looking for when researching care for our little boy and Tran has been absolutely incredible with him and us! Tran is kind, approachable, knowledgeable, and always answers all of our questions with patience and care. Also want to mention how Tran truly went above and beyond for us when our little boy was sick for the first time at 4 months old. We were nervous and when things seemed to take a turn with his breathing/congestion one day after hours, Tran was absolutely our hero and offered to meet us at the clinic after she had already was home for the day! We couldn’t thank her enough for caring for our lil guy so much that she did that and got him on the right course of treatment immediately which helped him recover so much quicker! Thank you to Tran and the Little Roots Team for being amazing providers of care!
Has been wonderful with Tran Lyons. Loved the quick direct access to Tran whenever had a question or concern. Highly recommend.
Im a first time mom and my husband and I came in for my sons first pediatric apt. Monday November 10th. I also have postpartum depression and was an emotional mess and been so overwhelmed and scared that I wasn't doing anything right the first few days after delivery. Dr. Tran was so kind, reassuring, compassionate and helpful answering all my questions. I'm 34 and have never felt so lost, scared and helpless. She is very informative and takes the time to really explain everything in detail. She didn't just pop in and treat us like a number or rush through the appointment to leave. It's obvious she is passionate about her career and helping not only babies but parents ♡ - The Edsalls
