Questions about Concierge Pediatric Care?
We understand that concierge pediatric care may be a new concept to you, and you likely have some questions. Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions we hear from local families. If you are ready to learn more with a meet & greet with Dr. Shi, reach out today!
Dr. Shi personally conducts a Virtual Meet and Greet with all prospective families prior to signing up with the practice. This complimentary consultation provides an opportunity for both parties to get to know each other and to determine if it would be a good fit. Parents and families are encouraged to ask questions openly and learn more about the direct-access practice model and its services. Once you’re enrolled as a Little Roots Direct-Access member, you can directly book with Dr. Shi or request appointment by utilizing our smartphone app for our practice.
Membership fees are charged to your bank account, credit, or debit card monthly or annually. You can pay as a recurring monthly payment with an additional one-time enrollment fee for the family. For annual memberships, the enrollment fee is waived. You may also use your FSA or HSA to pay for a membership, but we recommend you consult with your employee benefits manager or health insurance benefits representative to confirm this.
Yes, we currently have openings in our practice. However, space is limited in order to provide personalized care to each member and family. Once the practice reaches capacity, families will be placed on a waitlist and notified when a spot becomes available.
Little Roots Pediatrics does not participate in any insurance plans for our direct-access members-exclusive services. For those with insurance, our practice works well with PPOs. We facilitate specialist referrals, procedures and/or imaging done outside of office, and lab draws. While we are unable to guarantee a specific reimbursement rate, PPOs typically allow ease with subspecialty referrals.
Yes, we work well with PPO's and most insurances to allow our patients the ability to use their insurance for additional services and medical work-up that help with care and treatment.
As much as we aim to meet our members where they are for their medical needs, we are not a hospital/emergency room/urgent care. What we promise to offer is well-thought-out care plans for acute and ongoing health concerns. If you feel that you have a medical emergency and are unable to reach your doctor, we recommend that you always report to the nearest emergency room for the fastest medical attention.
At Little Roots, we believe that each family and child deserves special attention and time to assess their health concerns and close working relationship with their pediatrician that enables proper follow up. To accomplish this, our members pay a set monthly or annual fee for access to our doctors. We work towards building lasting working relationships with our families and members, foster open communication, and provide a patient-centered care plan that is curated for each person. Our members are able to directly contact their doctors when they need medical attention, this includes weekends and after-hours for urgent health concerns.
Tran and Dr. Shi have been my children's pediatricians since 2022, and I was drawn to their clinic for several reasons. First, they don’t pressure parents to stick to the recommended schedule if you're hesitant about administering multiple at once. If you prefer to take it slow and do one or two at a time, they will work with you to create a plan that suits both you and your child. Unlike many pediatricians who may be pushy, Tran and Dr. Shi are understanding and accommodating. Second, they are available for last-minute concerns, even after hours, if your child is unwell (within reason, of course). The fee is definitely worth it, knowing that I can bring my kids in whenever they need to be seen or examined. Tran is incredibly kind and consistently goes above and beyond for her patients. Dr. Shi also provides valuable advice on safe supplements whenever I inquire about them, which I truly appreciate. Thank you, Little Roots!
This is by far the best pediatrician I've had for my kids, and I hate that we had to move. Dr. Tran is very knowledgeable and caring. I wish there were more doctors like her.
As first time parents, it was important to us that we found a pediatrician who would be there to support us through all our questions. We didn’t want to wait for hours in waiting rooms and decided concierge medicine was the way to go for our daughter. Although we have great insurance, we felt the monthly fee would be worth it. And it sure is! Dr. Shi is wonderful. She has answered after hour texts and calls and always makes time to see our daughter if we have any concerns (even for a diaper rash :). love the fact that we see her monthly this first year as our daughter is growing. We couldn’t recommend Dr. Shi more and we are so glad we found her.
Thank you so much Little Roots Pediatric and Tran Lyons for the time, knowledge, and care given to my grandson. I came to Las Vegas to help my son find the right pediatric care for his newborn. My first grandchild. Especially with them being first time parents this service sounded amazing but wasn’t sure exactly how it might go!!!! I was so amazed by the time Tran gave and the knowledge she gave!!!! Hard to put into words the experience we have had. But almost to good to be true….. but the time she devoted at our well visits and the responsiveness to our questions that come up later is simply the Best!!! Thank you Little Roots!!! If I could give 10 stars I would.
